We examined the first part of the verse last time. Let's finish the fourth verse today.
דּוֹר לְדוֹר, יְשַׁבַּח מַעֲשֶׂיךָ; From last time: "Generation to generation will continually praise (glorify) your deeds, activities, actions, business, work...."
וּגְבוּרֹתֶיךָ יַגִּידוּ. oo g'voo-roh-TEI-kha ya-GHEE-doo
Once again, we will look at the shoresh, or root, of each of these words.
גבור, ghee BOHR means "strength, power, force, valour, courage, victory. The "vav" which occurs before this and pronounced "oo" means "and". TEI-kha תֶיךָ- suffix simply is the plural, then possessive, making the entire word mean: "your strengths, powers", etc.
יַגִּידוּ, the last word of our "dalet" verse, ya-GHEE-doo, is a verb coming from נ.ג.ד. This means: "to bring forward, to declare, explain, announce; to make known, to betray". With the yod prefix and vav suffix the meaning is "they will declare, explain", etc. The pronoun "they" is referring to דּוֹר לְדוֹר, generation to generation, which we saw at the beginning of the verse.
So putting it all together: דּוֹר לְדוֹר, יְשַׁבַּח מַעֲשֶׂיךָ; וּגְבוּרֹתֶיךָ יַגִּידוּ.
Generation to generation will continually praise and glorify your works, deeds, activities: and they will declare and announce your power, strength and victory.
Until next time:
